Client presented in clinic with left sided back pain and a mid lumbar lean to the right. It came on after running, and hasn’t gone away since.
As we know foot dynamics cue the rest of the body, so it wasn’t a great surprise we tracked things down to the right ankle. See that beautiful scar there 🤩, that was from an old logging injury, it wasn’t that.
Instead, untreated repetitive ankle sprains over the years had started wreaking havoc as the mileage started to increase. We worked on a single medial ligament and eight lateral ligaments to normalise the dysfunctional pattern, took a short walk to check everything was okay, to find the back was no longer painful, the muscle tone had returned to normal and the lean had all but disappeared.
Homework will be to continue to work on one pesky ligament followed by lateral ligament strengthening using the YT videos available to all 😊👍
