Knee pain

How many people do you see running with knee braces? The people who have been running (insert other suitable activity here) with them since forever, ones that are super tatty and when they wear out, just replace them with another one?

Now I’m not anti bracing, or even anti taping (which can be misused to a similar level), but they are often used to ‘help’ with patella tracking issues, typically medically (but it could be laterally as well) for far to long a period.
Understanding why the knee cap is moving one way or the other, and then treating that is surely a better solution 👨🏻‍🎓

In clinic I often find dysfunction within the four muscles of the quadriceps themselves, or the inner / outer muscles of the upper leg.
If they are over active on one side compared to the other, there will be a shift in tissue – hence the tracking issues.
This is normally fairly easy to rectify given diligent and conscientious application of the homework assigned in each specific case.
