Eye dysfunction from piercings?

In clinic we use a 16 position perturbation test to see if the long chain kinetics are working well together, it’s a nice, quick indicator of how things are going.

In clinic today a client presented with neck pain and headaches. They failed 11 of the perturbation test positions – very wobbly!
We tracked this down to an extraocular eye muscle, itself dysfunctional as a result of some old piercing scars on the back of the neck. It made me chuckle (internally) as I did part of my masters degree looking at piercings and body modifications 20 odd years ago, funny how we come full circle 🤣 anyway …

We addressed the dysfunctional scars, resolved the eye muscle dysfunction, and then all tests passed with ease. This allowed the neck to self decompress, which should mean less pain and headaches going forward 👍
