Face ache ?

A client presented in clinic with a range on ongoing issues. Whilst they attended principally for some low back issues, when covering their history, it was noted they couldn’t have anyone touch their face or anywhere on their head without causing them to flinch and / or pull away. They also needed to consciously calm themselves after these occasions.

They had been living with these symptoms for 40ish years. Whilst there had been a few bangs to the head (and one to the coccyx), which might normally have been avenues for investigation, and may certainly have contributed to the compounding of the dysfunction, they weren’t the cause of the issue.

With no obviously related trauma, we started with our usual battery of tests. We found dysfunction in the breathing system, the core and with the long chain kinetics. To compound matters their body had normalised to a state of flight or flight – meaning they struggled to get to a parasympathetic state, ever.
When we used a TL to an area along the centre right lambdoid suture (an area not indicated by any past trauma or the reciprocal exit sites), almost all function returned to normal with a nervous system which responded normally.

We started by working on the polar reactors for each bone / suture point so that we didn’t have to work directly on the head and face initially. Over several sessions we were able to balance the spine, and both neuro and visceral craniums. We worked on the breathing and aligning the four main diaphragms. There was some emotional clearly needed, but this appeared to all be ‘trapped in the tissues’ rather than needing any specific psychoemotional intervention.

The low back pain has diminished significantly as the breathing system and core optimise. Homework is cementing the work we’ve done here. The long chain kinetics are all working normally, and most importantly they are able to have their face and head touched now without the need to flinch or pull away. This has has had a significant effect on their life and how they interact with their family and others on a daily basis.

Be kind to one another, and hopefully see you soon ❤️
