Hierarchy of movement

Essentially the hierarchy of movement control starts with the limbic system, think emotional need / response / reaction – see my bucket post for how your motor control can get highjacked by your emotions etc.
Then the cerebrum, this looks after all the stuff like running, playing tennis, catching or driving etc, so that you don’t have to keep relearning the movements each time you want to do them.
Then we get to the cerebellum and the motor control centre. This is where I work, assessing and correcting dysfunctional / sub optimal movement patterns.
Finally the hierarchy involves the spine – think reflex responses, as well as the fascial system.

Hope this helps πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘πŸ»
