It’s not always about the scars

I was talking to a client in clinic about what they’d been up to which might be contributing to their symptoms.
They had recently started a core conditioning class on line. This had highlighted issues in their neck and shoulders. We discussed some of the movements as we worked and touched upon the fact they have never been able to perform leg raises, their lower abs ‘don’t work’. There’s a Caesarian in their history so this wasn’t a surprise. A few tests later confirmed there were a number of movement patterns which were dysfunctional.
Using therapy localisation on the scar improved things 👍

But it wasn’t time to work on the scar (😞).
The coloured pens didn’t come out.
Why? Because it didn’t feel right. This isn’t where their nervous system was directing the work.
Instead we listened. We found work was needed on the pelvic floor instead. Two patterns were quickly cleared, and retested. All passed so we attempted the leg raises…..

Easy peasy!

Tape was provided to help stabilise the new pattern whilst the area is strengthened. Happy days 👍

Note: Just because TL improves things, it still doesn’t mean that’s where you should be working 😊
