Yep, thatโs right itโs whiplash season ๐ฑ
Late summer / early autumn (and spring time) when the sun is low in the sky as people are driving to and from work is prime time for a whiplash incident.
Obviously if this happens to you, there are all sorts of cervical (neck) and extraocular compensations that are likely to creep in, which I would strongly urge you to resolve as quickly as possible, and we can help you with this in clinic (and apparently can be successfully included as part of you settlement agreement if you get a statement of treatment from us as well) ๐๐๐ป
๐๐ป This however, is a post more about prevention ๐คฉ
As a general rule, if you need to do anything which affects your vision, your lights should be on ๐๐ป
What do I mean by this (in case itโs been a while since you had driving lessons ๐)
Well, if you need to – clean the windscreen inside or out because itโs grubby, if you need to put the wipers on because itโs raining, if you need to put your sunglasses on, or put the visor down to shade your eyes etc your lights should be on ๐๐ป
The majority of your lights on your car arenโt for you to see, ๐๐ปtheyโre there for others to see you๐๐ป, and if it means itโs potentially the difference between having someone up your rear, or them keeping a safe distance, surely itโs worth it.
Bonus: Cyclists – Daytime running lights are a must. Please. Whilst visibility might be good for us when weโre on the bike, low sun, dappled shady spots on the road where we become virtually invisible and grubby windscreens mean weโre at risk without that extra visibility too โค๏ธ๐ตโโ๏ธ
Have a great, whiplash free, day ๐๐ป๐
