Pilates Instructor needing help

The mermaid stretch is a Pilates stalwart. It’s great for stretching out the intercostals, QL and spinal extensors – I use a modified version for some of the breathing correct work we do when needed.

Today I had a Pilates Instructor come in who was having trouble carrying out the right sided mermaid stretch. After a quick assessment using ScoliVision, we carried out some indirect fascial release. Activated their glute and pec muscles. The result? Not only was the ease of the stretch and RoM improved, it actually slightly exceeded the left side stretch πŸ‘πŸ»

There’s homework to do, for sure, but the sessions tomorrow will go ahead with a full demo at the front of the class πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈπŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‘πŸ»
