Scars – distortion of the fascial tissues

Scars: in the days when keyhole surgeries make up a larger percentage of surgeries than ever before, it’s not what’s on the surface that always matters.

When there is fascial injury (surgery or trauma) there is dysfunction with the resultant fascial distortions causing problems either in the local area associated with the alteration, or, in contrast, in a distal area not capable of adapting to the new inputs (stresses on the system).
