Symphysis Pubic Dysfunction (SPD) or Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP)

Pelvic instability, symphysis pubis dysfunction, or pelvic girdle pain, can occur when the physical strain from by the unborn child and / or relaxin levels during pregnancy cause the ligaments which normally stabilise the pelvis to become too relaxed and stretchy in the run up to the birth.
It is surprisingly common with some experts estimating it affecting 25% of pregnancies, even though these may not ever receive a diagnosis.

A client presented with anterior pelvic pain focused around the pubic symphysis, and alter gait (walking).
Using a simple NKT protocol we were able to normalise the neural tone to 4 ligaments, which, with the addition of kinesiology tape allowed the pelvis to stabilise reducing the discomfort, and making walking / moving much easier.

They’ll need to keep up with their homework, but not long to go now … 🤰
