Why do we use the SquatMaxMD in clinic?

Because theres minimal axial loading, you don’t get spinal compression (in fact some data suggests it can help decompress the lumbar spine), but it also means a faster recovery time, because of the reduced axial loading, which is vital when planning a rehab programme.

Once the leg muscles (and associated structures) are able to manage increased loads, we can deload the programme to safely and effectively be able to introduce axial vectors, improving the strength, adaptability and capacity of the spine and its structures.

No pressure or shearing forces on the joints, whilst maintaining constant tension throughout the movement.

It’s also the closest thing to doing a barbell loaded squat without doing a barbell loaded squat, achieving better muscle activation that any other belt loaded machine.
