Your skull is just one bone

Most in the western world believe the skull to be a singular set of fused bones which protect the skull.

They’re not wrong for the most part, but most are under the misconception these bones can’t move independently.
The skull bones (should) actually move every time we breathing. The synchronous movement of the cranial bones is necessary for proper function of the spine, nervous and energy systems. Misalignments can cause many symptoms, both locally and globally, from headaches, back ache to just about any movement dysfunction.

The movement of the Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) has far-reaching effects on our sensory and motor nerves as well as the bodys overall neurological function.
It is therefore imperative there is a continual flow of the CSF to bathe, nourish, and support the brain and spinal cord.

Interruptions can occur, through trauma (physical (slips, falls, sprains, RTI, birth etc), physiological or metaphysical) impairing cranial movement.

The far reaching effects of cranial dysfunction are why we may end up looking at your head / spine in clinic, even if you come in with knee pain 😊
It’s all connected. 👨🏻‍🎓

Which is why it’s important to treat you holistically, providing the space to heal in whatever form is required.
